Meeting Briefs: Manhattan Township for February 11, 2025
Baker Road Bridge Work Imminent: Highway Commissioner Jim Baltas reported that the Road District crew will soon begin trimming trees to prepare for the upcoming construction on the Baker Road Bridge. The anticipated start date for the bridge project is April 1, 2025.
County Revamping PACE Dial-A-Ride Service: Supervisor Jim Walsh announced that the PACE Dial-A-Ride service is being revamped by Will County. The new program will offer county-wide services, be subsidized by the county, and is expected to be available to residents by the end of April.
2025 Property Assessments Coming in July: Assessor Joe Oldani reported that the township’s 2025 property assessments are scheduled to be published at the end of July.
DCEO Grant Approval Moving Forward: Clerk Kelly Baltas shared that the township’s DCEO grant is progressing through the state’s approval process and is in bond release. The township’s representative is hopeful that the funds will be dispersed before the fiscal year ends on June 30, 2025.
