2025 Road Resurfacing Approved: The board approved an IDOT resolution for maintenance under Illinois code for the village’s 2025 resurfacing project totaling $750,000. The project will complete streets that were previously put on hold due to construction activities.

Labor Day Road Closure: Trustees authorized the use of US Route 52 Manhattan Monee Road for Monday, September 1, 2025, Labor Day activities.

Routine Business: The board approved meeting minutes from June 3 and June 17, along with the July 1 bills list during the consent agenda portion of the meeting.

Well Project Update: Public Works Director John reported that Well 7 construction is “moving at great speed” for the village’s new radium removal facilities.

Park Street Drainage: Crews are working at “full steam” on Park Street drainage improvements, with sump lines and downspout connections completed for area homeowners.

Blood Drive Scheduled: Village Clerk reminded residents of a community-wide blood drive scheduled for Thursday, July 31, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM in the village hall meeting room. Contact Shelly Lewis to sign up.

Independence Day Parade: The village’s Fourth of July parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 5.

Mayor’s Absence: Mayor Mike Adrieansen was absent due to family business but is expected to return for the next board meeting.

Stonegate Park Update: Trustee discussions indicated progress on transferring Stonegate Park land to the park district, addressing ongoing resident concerns about the facility’s status.
