Fire District May 21 Meeting Briefs

Policy Manual Nearly Complete: The district’s operational procedures and policy manual is 95% complete, with attorney review and union input ongoing. The complete manual will be presented to the board for adoption once finalized.

New Vehicle Updates: The new Tahoe is being outfitted and should return to service in June. The ambulance chassis replacement is on order following December’s accident.

Training Ongoing: Battalion Chief training and ride-alongs are currently taking place. New hire training was recently completed for nine part-time members and four interns.

Closed Session Minutes: The board voted to keep all closed session minutes sealed based on attorney recommendation during the review process.

Strategic Planning Next: Chief Malone reported the next step will be developing a strategic plan for the district. A Community Risk Assessment is in draft form with the final version expected next month.
