Jackson Township Meeting Briefs

Meeting Approvals: Jackson Township trustees unanimously approved December 2024 meeting minutes and the monthly financial statement during their January 8 meeting. The board also approved the assessor’s 2025 budget as previously presented.

Scholarship Available: Township Officials of Illinois is offering a scholarship for high school seniors planning to attend Illinois state universities. Information is available through the township office.

Newsletter Partnership: The Jackson Township fire department has requested the local library join the township’s community newsletter. Officials need to submit content by February 3 for the upcoming edition explaining township office functions and providing website information.

Donation Requests: The Will County Center for Community Concerns requested a township donation, though officials noted they donated to the organization in June. The township received thank you notes from Will Grundy Medical, CASA, Lightways Hospice, and the Disability Resource Center for previous donations.

Flag Discussion: Trustees discussed potentially creating a township flag, noting that other townships featured in Township Magazine display flags and Jackson Township already has an established logo.

Bill Approvals: The board approved road and bridge expenditures and town fund bills for January. No county aid to bridge bills required approval this month.

Next Meeting: Jackson Township’s February meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Jackson Township Hall.
