Fire District May 19 Board Meeting Briefs

Board Actions Delayed: The swearing-in of new Trustee Mike Shivers was postponed until the next board meeting. The board voted to retain current leadership positions rather than reorganizing roles.

Records System Updated: The board approved joining a revised intergovernmental agreement for the ImageTrend records management system, adding East Joliet to the existing partnership with New Lenox, Mokena, Frankfort and Manhattan.

Memorial Plans Reviewed: Plans were discussed for a memorial at Station 83 honoring late Trustee Bill Osborne, using funds from community donations.

Equipment Status: The new Tahoe vehicle should return to service next week after outfitting. Station 83 generator issues are being addressed, and bay door operators need replacement.

Hotel Opening Soon: The Peotone Holiday Inn Express is close to opening, with firefighters receiving specialized training on the new building.
