CDC’s autism and vaccines website criticized

The Illinois Department of Public Health is criticizing the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for recent changes to the CDC’s website concerning vaccines.

IDPH says the CDC is making “unfounded claims” regarding linkages between vaccines and autism.

The CDC’s website says the claim “vaccines do not cause autism” is not an evidence-based claim and studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.

Measure filed after noncitizen-involved fatal crash

State Representative Adam Niemerg, R-Dieterich, is introducing legislation aimed at preventing illegal immigrants from obtaining drivers’ licenses.

House Bill 4184 would ban non-U.S. citizens from obtaining or renewing driver’s licenses or permits and require license and permit applicants to affirm their ability to read and write in English.

Niemerg called the measure “Claytons’ Law” in remembrance of Coles County Board member Mike Clayton and his wife, who died in a crash involving a noncitizen immigrant charged with driving under the influence and reckless homicide.

No Taxpayer-Funded Abortion Travel For Illegal Aliens Act filed

Illinois Republican U.S. Rep. Mary Miller and North Carolina U.S. Rep. Mark Harris have introduced the No Taxpayer-Funded Abortion Travel For Illegal Aliens Act.

The measure would prohibit taxpayer-funded abortion travel for noncitizen immigrants.

Miller said former President Joe Biden turned federal agencies into abortion traffickers by directing the Office of Refugee Resettlement to arrange and finance abortion travel for illegal alien minors.
