MANHATTAN, IL – The Manhattan Fire Protection District Board of Trustees on Monday, October 20, 2025, approved the final major bid for its new fire station, awarding the landscaping contract to ICI Builds.
The board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation from ICI to have the company seed and blanket the 21-acre property. Fire Chief Steve Malone told the trustees that this was the “final bid to be approved” for the project and confirmed that the price ICI Builds had quoted in July was still being honored.
In conjunction with the new station’s development, the board also unanimously approved the necessary utility easements for the site, pending a final review by the district’s attorney.
