MANHATTAN, IL – In a move to refine its organizational structure, the Manhattan Park Board on Thursday, October 9, 2025, unanimously approved new job descriptions for five key management positions.

The updated roles were passed as part of a consent agenda and will become effective on January 1, 2026. The positions approved are:

  • Deputy Director

  • Business Operations Manager

  • Parks Operations Manager

  • Wedding and Events Manager

  • Marketing Coordinator

The approval formalizes the duties and reporting structures for these administrative roles, including the creation of a Deputy Director position and a manager focused on events at the Round Barn venue. The board approved the consent agenda, which also included the previous month’s meeting minutes, in a 4-0 vote.
