The Jackson Township Board on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, moved forward with community support initiatives and intergovernmental cooperation during its monthly meeting.

Supervisor Matt Robbins presented an intergovernmental agreement between Central Will Dial-A-Ride and Will County, which the board approved unanimously. The agreement ensures the continuation of transportation services for residents.

In a show of patriotic support, the board also passed Resolution 2526-08, formally backing the Illinois America 250 Commemoration. The motion was made by Trustee Michele Hallihan and seconded by Trustee Jake Fanning.

Under capital planning, Supervisor Robbins updated the board on ongoing infrastructure discussions. The township received information from Union Pacific Railroad regarding necessary easements. Additionally, ComEd has provided a map detailing easement requirements to the north for moving a utility pole.

Highway Commissioner Walsh reported an incident where a contracting company attempted to install a pole in the middle of township property without proper authorization. Supervisor Robbins intervened to stop the work, noting the company appeared to be operating incorrectly.

The board also finalized plans for seasonal community assistance. Thirty-five food baskets are prepared for Thanksgiving distribution on November 22, with Christmas baskets to follow on December 20. A toy drive is scheduled for December 5 at Jack’s.
