The Manhattan-Elwood Public Library District Board of Trustees held a nearly two-hour meeting on Monday evening to handle financial reallocations, review facility statistics, and discuss real estate holdings. Elwood Branch Celebrates One-Year Anniversary
Under New Business, the board conducted a “One Year Elwood Anniversary Review.” During this segment, trustees and staff reviewed operational statistics and patron data collected during the first full year of operations at the Elwood facility to evaluate the branch’s performance and community impact.
Committee Updates “Serving Our Public” Standards
During the committee reports segment, the board received an update regarding the state’s “Serving Our Public” guidelines. The brief discussion focused on new standards that public libraries must strive to meet regarding district governance and patron services.
October Financials and Minutes Approved
The board unanimously approved its routine administrative items at the top of the meeting. Trustee Patti Blatti motioned to approve the October financial reports as presented, which was seconded by Trustee Keri English and passed via a roll call vote. The board noted there were no special bills requiring payment for the period. Additionally, English motioned to approve the October 27, 2025, meeting minutes as written, which was seconded by Trustee Amanda Dearing and passed unanimously.
