The Manhattan Village Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, to handle routine business and address immediate equipment needs for the Public Works Department. Consent Agenda Approved: The board voted unanimously to approve the Consent Agenda, which included the minutes from the December 16, 2025, meeting, executive session minutes from July through December 2025, and the bills list for January 6, 2026. The total invoices approved in the packet amounted to $841,725.27.
ComEd Bill Advice: Trustee Lucinda Neighbors advised residents to check their ComEd bills closely. She noted that some residents have successfully lowered their energy provider amounts significantly by reviewing rates and switching providers using the website listed on the back of their utility bills.
Aries Project Near Completion: Public Works staff reported that the Aries project on Arsenal Road is nearing completion. Officials estimate that the work should be finished within another week, weather permitting.
