The Will County Board on Thursday passed a resolution granting ingress and egress access to Laraway Road for a new development project by Northern Builders, Inc., located in New Lenox.
The development is situated at the southwest corner of the intersection of Laraway Road and Gougar Road. The board’s approval allows for two specific curb cuts. “Access/Curb Cut A” will be a major access point located roughly 1,090 to 1,275 feet west of the intersection. “Access/Curb Cut B” is located directly south of the existing Gougar Road intersection.
According to the request letter submitted by Northern Builders Vice President Matthias Trizna, the second access point is intended for “future Gougar Road extension work that will be needed by the developer for future access to their proposed development.” The letter explicitly notes that any Gougar Road extension work will be permitted through and, upon completion, dedicated to the Village of New Lenox.
The preliminary site plans attached to the agenda depict a massive 912,640-square-foot office and warehouse facility on the site, which sits within County Board District 2.
