The Manhattan School District 114 Board of Education on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, approved a slate of administrative reorganizations and personnel changes, adding a new operations director while officially reclassifying a key student services role.

During the action items portion of the agenda, the board voted 6-0 to approve the reclassification of the position and role of the Director of Special Education. Moving forward, the position will be known as the Director of Student Services. The board also approved the updated job description associated with the expanded title.

Immediately following, the board voted 6-0 to approve the creation of a brand new administrative position: Director of Operations. The motion included the approval of the role’s official job description.

Following an hour-long closed executive session to discuss specific employment matters, the board reconvened to vote on a series of resignations and contract approvals.

The board voted 6-0 to accept the resignation of Kim Maher, the district’s Director of Communication, Development, and Safety. Her resignation will be effective June 30, 2026. The board also accepted the resignations of Brittany McDonald, an SI kindergarten teacher at Wilson Creek (effective at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year), and Jerry Glenn, a technology assistant at the District Office (effective April 7, 2026).

Additionally, the board approved a block of administrative and administrative assistant employment contracts for the upcoming terms. A separate motion was unanimously passed to approve a principal’s administrator retirement contract for Ryan McWilliams. The board also approved an amendment to the superintendent’s administrator contract for Dr. Damien Aherne.
