Lincoln-Way West Offense Explodes for 18 Runs in Tournament Win Over Joliet West
The Lincoln-Way West varsity softball team unleashed another relentless offensive barrage on Wednesday afternoon, routing Joliet West 18-3 in neutral-site tournament action. The Warriors’ bats were virtually unstoppable, overpowering the Tigers to secure a lopsided victory and bounce back emphatically from a recent defeat.
Wednesday’s contest marked the second meeting between the two programs this spring, and the result mirrored the first. Lincoln-Way West previously defeated Joliet West 15-0 in a three-inning, non-conference road clash on March 20. With this latest 18-3 triumph, the Warriors outscored the Tigers by a staggering combined margin of 33-3 across their two 2026 matchups.
The high-scoring affair was simply par for the course for a Lincoln-Way West squad that has terrorized opposing pitchers all season. Entering the game with a top-25 state ranking and averaging over 10 runs per contest, the Warriors’ lineup showed exactly why they are one of the most feared offenses in their class.
While Joliet West managed to push three runs across the plate—a marked improvement from their shutout loss to the Warriors earlier in the year—they could not keep pace with the sheer volume of Lincoln-Way West’s run production.
With the decisive tournament win, Lincoln-Way West improves its overall record to a stellar 9-3 on the year. Meanwhile, Joliet West drops to 3-9 and will look to regroup as they continue their tournament schedule.
