The Lincoln-Way West varsity baseball team continued its strong start to the season on Tuesday, overpowering non-conference opponent Revere (OH) 12-2 in neutral-site action. Backed by a relentless 14-hit attack and flawless team defense, the Warriors steadily built their lead inning by inning to secure the decisive victory.

After a scoreless opening frame, Lincoln-Way West broke the ice in the top of the second inning, plating a pair of runs to establish a 2-0 advantage. Revere responded with a single run in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit in half, but the Warriors immediately answered the bell.

Lincoln-Way West pushed a run across in the top of the third before breaking the game wide open in the fourth. The Warriors erupted for a massive four-run rally, sparked by a barrage of hits and aggressive baserunning, to extend their lead to a commanding 7-1.

The middle of the Lincoln-Way West order was virtually unstoppable all afternoon. Michael Pettit and Jackson Mansker served as a devastating one-two punch at the top of the lineup. Pettit went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored, while Mansker finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and four runs scored.

Jacob Howard also provided a massive highlight for the Warriors, launching a home run during a 1-for-3 performance at the plate. Carson Paulas contributed a pair of hits and two runs scored, while Peyton Globke drew two walks and scored twice.

On the mound, Kellen Schulte earned the win with a strong starting performance for Lincoln-Way West. Schulte navigated four innings, allowing just one run on four hits while racking up six strikeouts. Luke Gouty and Jakob Harmon provided solid relief out of the bullpen to close out the game. The Lincoln-Way West pitching staff was perfectly supported by their defense, which committed zero errors and turned in several key plays behind them.

Revere managed to scratch across a final run in the bottom of the seventh inning, with Anthony Gliozzo pacing their offense by driving in both of the team’s runs on the day. However, it was far too little, too late to overcome the Warriors’ relentless offensive surge.
