The Lincoln-Way West boys’ track and field team showcased its elite top-end talent on Saturday, April 11, bringing home eight individual flight championships at the highly competitive Best 4 Invitational hosted by Wheaton North.

Competing in a unique format that divides athletes into A, B, C, and D varsity flights, the Warriors proved they possess some of the premier athletes in the region. Lincoln-Way West placed third in the premier Varsity A division with 45 points, trailing only Roselle Lake Park (55) and Glen Ellyn Glenbard West (49). Across all four combined flights, the Warriors compiled 105 points to finish sixth overall in a meet ultimately won by Lake Park (196).

The Warriors’ track attack was headlined by a trio of impressive Varsity A victories. Anthony Lusciatti scorched the track with a personal-best 38.18 to win the 300-meter intermediate hurdles. Hunter Spee delivered a personal record of his own in the 400-meter dash, breaking the tape in 50.33.
