The Lincoln-Way West boys track and field team traveled to Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School on Monday, April 20, 2026, where a dominant showing in the distance events and throws helped the Warriors capture second place in a three-team field. Host Bradley-Bourbonnais claimed the overall team title with 84 points, while the Warriors amassed 54 points to comfortably outdistance third-place Lockport Township (17 points).

While Bradley-Bourbonnais utilized its depth in the sprints and jumps to build an insurmountable lead, Lincoln-Way West controlled the tempo in the longer races. Senior Logan Kennedy delivered a standout performance in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line first in 2:11.61 to hold off senior teammate Luke Bergen, who took second in a personal-best 2:16.14. The Warriors replicated that 1-2 success in the 1600 meters, as freshman Ethan Brauch broke the tape in 5:00.84, closely followed by senior Adrian Acosta, who clocked a personal-best 5:02.85.

Lincoln-Way West’s relay teams also found the top of the podium. The 4×800-meter relay squad—featuring Acosta, sophomore Bryce Jordan, sophomore Frank Cuttone, and freshman Cameron Fritz—cruised to victory with a time of 8:59.10. The Warriors also claimed gold in the 4×200-meter relay, where the quartet of sophomore Jake Durkin, sophomore Carl Langley, sophomore Benjamin DeMaertelaere, and sophomore Noah Saxour teamed up for a winning time of 1:42.77.

In the field events, senior Reilly Kliros was the premier talent in the shot put ring. Kliros launched a winning heave of 15.55 meters to secure first place. Sophomore Broden Newman delivered a strong dual-threat performance for the Warriors, taking third in the shot put (14.46m) and third in the discus with a personal-best toss of 46.75 meters. DeMaertelaere added a personal-best 43.75-meter throw in the discus to secure fourth place.

On the track, senior TaRyan Culbert led the Warriors’ sprinting efforts. Culbert earned a pair of fourth-place finishes, clocking an 11.86 in the 100-meter dash and a personal-best 54.81 in the 400-meter dash. Junior Elias Ibarra added a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a season-best 24.81.

Freshman Brenden Pritchard showcased his versatility for Lincoln-Way West, earning a silver medal in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 10.38 meters and adding a third-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles (46.30).
