The Lincoln-Way West varsity softball team secured a hard-fought 5-4 victory over Bradley-Bourbonnais on Tuesday, rallying late to claim a narrow home conference win.
The game was a competitive back-and-forth affair from the first pitch. Bradley-Bourbonnais struck first with a run in the opening inning, but Lincoln-Way West quickly answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to seize a brief lead. The visitors regained control with two runs in the third and another in the fifth to build a 4-2 lead.
Facing that deficit, the Warriors’ offense ignited in the bottom of the fifth, producing a decisive three-run rally that proved to be the difference in the contest.
