A Vistra spokesperson said the Baldwin Solar Facility, which sits on coal plant property, will continue operating after the retirement of the Baldwin Power Plant.

CWB: NO IMMEDIATE DISPATCH TO ALDERMAN’S BOMB REPORT

A Chicago alderman said someone set off a bomb outside his home early Saturday, shattering a window as his three children were sleeping, but CWB Chicago reports that Chicago police were not sent to any calls of an explosion at the time.

Alderman Byron Sigcho-Lopez said in a social media post that the blast happened around 12:45 a.m.

CWB said it appeared police first learned about the incident nearly nine hours later, when a high-ranking member of the district command staff received a call and dispatched a sergeant to the alderman’s residence.

Chicago police said an unknown male offender placed a suspected firework in the street and ignited it.

PHEASANT, WILDLIFE GRANTS TO BE ACCEPTED JULY 1

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says it is accepting applications for the State Pheasant Fund Special Funds and the Illinois Habitat Fund Special Funds Grant programs from July 1 through August 1.

The habitat programs are intended to enhance the natural environment for pheasant and wildlife through projects developed by not-for-profit organizations and governmental entities for conservation.

Grant funding comes from the sale of habitat stamps to sportsmen and sportswomen.
