Sheriff’s Office to Recover Insurance Funds for Three Wrecked Squad Cars

The committee advanced a resolution appropriating $19,645 in the Vehicle Replacement Fund budget, reflecting indemnity payments the Sheriff’s Office received from insurer IPMG for the total loss of three squad cars. Supporting documents itemize the payments: $7,750 for a 2015 Ford Taurus (Squad #1508), $5,770 for a 2016 Ford Explorer (Squad #1640) and $6,125 for a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. FEMA Grant to Fund County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

Project documents identify the funds as supporting an update to the Will County Hazard Mitigation Plan, with a total approved net-eligible cost of $53,333 split between a 75% federal share ($39,999.75) and a 25% non-federal share ($13,333.25). The appropriated amount combines the federal share with a subrecipient management cost. Coroner to Appropriate $4,338 Vital Records Award

The committee advanced a resolution appropriating $4,338 in the Coroner’s budget, reflecting an award from the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Office of Vital Records connected to death-certificate surcharge fees. The resolution makes a series of offsetting budget adjustments, including increases to a death-certificate surcharge fee revenue line and an operating supplies and materials line. The chair described the money as grant funds, noting that was her understanding. The item passed on a voice vote.
