Second family welcomes baby boy
And the new baby makes six – Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance welcomed a baby boy Sunday morning.
The vice president announced the birth of Alec Neel Vance, the couple’s fourth child, joining sons Ewan, 9, Vivek, 6, and daughter Mirabel, 4.
In a statement announcing the birth Sunday afternoon, the vice president said the second lady and son are “happy and healthy,” adding their kids are “overjoyed to meet their little brother.”
The baby was born at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., known as the president’s hospital.
The newest Vance has already made history, marking the first baby born to a sitting vice president in over 150 years and the first baby born to the executive branch since 1963, with the birth of Patrick Bouvier Kennedy to the late President John F. Kennedy and the late First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Tragically, the Kennedy baby was born prematurely and died two days later.
