Meeting Summary and Briefs: Jackson Township Board Meeting | September 10, 2025
The Jackson Township Board met on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, to handle standard monthly business, including the approval of financial statements and the payment of bills. Supervisor Matt Robbins, Clerk Kathryn Hunt, and Trustees Jake Fanning, Norm Fanning, Coley O’Connell, and Michele Hallihan were in attendance.
In addition to the main discussions regarding infrastructure and the road district, the board handled administrative items including potential donations and transportation programs. The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Donation Applications: The board acknowledged the receipt of two applications for donations. The trustees tabled the vote on these items until the next meeting. The board established a protocol that applications received by the Wednesday prior to a board meeting will be reviewed before that meeting.
Will County Access for Rides: Supervisor Robbins reported that the township is moving forward with the Will County Access for Rides program.
Township Financials: The board unanimously approved the August 2025 minutes and the current financial statement. Trustees also voted to approve the Road and Bridge bills and the Town Fund bills.
Tax Appeal Deadline: Assessor LeGrett’s report noted that the last day to file a property tax appeal was the Monday preceding the meeting. The office received a high volume of phone calls at the last minute, and the county is now sending the filed appeals to the Assessor for review.
Elwood Days: It was announced that the Elwood Days parade would take place on the Saturday following the meeting, with lineup beginning at 10:30 a.m.
